TRAVELLING TO AND FROM SCHOOL
Walking and Riding
Students who walk or ride may enter the school via the footpath which runs along the driveway or through the gate from The Gums and also the creek adjacent to the new estate.
A bike shelter is located under the deck area. Students who ride or scoot to school must place their bike or scooter in the bike area when they arrive at school.
Bikes and scooters may not be ridden in the school yard at any time.
It is the responsibility of parents to work with their children on devising a safe route to and from school and promoting awareness and safety en route.
Car Travel
There is a drop off /pick up zone for delivering and collecting students from school at the start and end of each day. The safety of children, staff and parents is the major consideration for directions in this area.
Cars will not park in the turning circle.
Vehicles must stop as far forward in the zone as possible.
During the day bollards are placed in the carpark to prevent cars from accessing the turning circle as students use this space for play. These bollards are removed by staff /students before the afternoon pick up. Parents are asked not to move them.
In the afternoon early arrival parents must park in the car parks marked before cars line up in the driveway and impede traffic flow.
There are designated areas for pick up. Please move to the area relating to your youngest student to collect your family.
Please be mindful of traffic laws and courteous behaviour when accessing the car park area:
Do not queue over the intersection or the service road
Obey traffic signals
Do not overtake cars in the turning lane on Geelong Rd
Please remain on the footpath provided when walking in the turning circle area, behind the black fence as much as possible.
Students should always be accompanied by an adult when walking in the carpark.
Please use your full concentration whenever using the driveway, drop off zone and carpark areas. This includes driving at 10kph and not using your mobile phone.
If there are no spaces available to park usually a short wait sees one become free.
Patience is appreciated and respect for all users – and for staff providing directions and supervision – is expected at all times.
After School Pick Up
Please note that all students are asked to wait in their youngest sibling’s pick up area (even if the youngest student is not at school).
As they have in previous years, Mok-Borreeyn and Nyereeka students will be located in the first pick up bay.
Kanamo students will be in the bay closest to the office entrance.
Vornda students will be collected from the bay closest to Geelong Road.
All areas have been labeled with signs for your convenience.
We request that you do not leave you car in the turning circle, if you wish to exit your car please find a park. Bollards will be removed to allow car access into the turning circle at 3:00pm. Pleas ensure you DO NOT block traffic flow on Geelong Road. Please see the diagram HERE that outlines the pick up areas.
